MCWDC has developed a program for use in schools teaching responsible dog ownership.
To promote a better understanding of responsibile dog ownership and how it directly relates to a childs performance in school. By demonstrating through hands on examples, the children can see and relate to the positive imprssion a well behaved, trained dog makes on those around it. Through our dogs we will demonstrate the importance of school and training for children and how it relates to their success in life.
This is a 6 week program with 45 minutes periods including a question and answer period for the children. The program will promote not only good pet ownership, but will also compare training of dogs to the everyday life of school for children -

Lesson 1 - Intro to dogs and the 7 class groups and their purpose
Lesson 2 - Proper Nutrition
Lesson 3 - Grooming - Dental, nails care, bathing
Lesson 4 - Beginning Obedience -Why Obedience is important
Lesson 5 - Advance training in obedience
Lesson 6 - Careers working with Animals
There will be demonstrations with dogs for the childrens enjoyment and to enhance learning and retention for each lesson
